2026 SIM Expo

The SIM Expo is Canada’s premier gathering of simulation enthusiasts. It is a true multidisciplinary conference, which hosts everyone from the simulation community—from a variety of professions—including clinicians, researchers, and educators. It is a unique, annual opportunity for great minds in healthcare simulation to unite, collaborate on current issues in simulation, share knowledge, and advance simulation.

Join us this year as we travel to the East Coast for our annual conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia! Our host venue is centrally located in downtown Halifax, right on the scenic harbourfront! At SIM Expo 2026, we invite you to explore culture in its broadest sense: as the environment we create within simulation, the workplace cultures we influence through our practice, the diverse identities and ways of knowing that affect learning experiences, and the evolving cultures of our own simulation communities. Our cultural norms are embedded in the simulations we create, yet simulation can be a catalyst for change, as it can help us challenge our ways of being. 
 
This theme welcomes thoughtful reflections on cultural safety, psychological safety, Indigenous ways of knowing, team dynamics, leadership, systems improvement, and the values that guide our field. We aim to create a space for meaningful and challenging conversations, grounded in respect, authenticity and curiosity, about the kind of healthcare culture we aspire towards.
