The 2027 Geriatric Trauma Symposium will bring together experts from across the continuum of care to share emerging evidence, innovative practices, quality improvement initiatives, and practical strategies that can improve outcomes for older adults with traumatic injury.
We invite students, residents, fellows, faculty, clinicians, and researchers to submit work that advances the care of older adults after injury.
Choose the format that best fits your work: a traditional poster presentation or a Pecha Kucha presentation.
A Pecha Kucha is a fast-paced, high-impact format featuring 20 slides × 20 seconds. It is a great way to share innovative ideas, quality improvement initiatives, educational projects, and new approaches to geriatric trauma care in a concise, engaging, and memorable way.

Dr. McCarthy is an emergency physician and healthcare leader focused on clinical excellence, patient safety, and system-wide innovation. He previously led emergency medicine at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and McGovern Medical School.
Dr. Rosen is a nationally recognized leader in geriatric emergency medicine whose work focuses on elder mistreatment, injury prevention, and improving emergency care for vulnerable older adults.
Dr. Woolverton is a clinical psychologist specializing in geropsychology, aging, and mental health. Her work includes advancing evidence-based and age-friendly approaches to the care of older adults.
