2027 USASP Meeting: Pre-Conference Workshop Proposals

The United States Association for the Study of Pain (USASP) invites proposals for interactive workshops to be presented during the Pre-Conference Workshop Day (Monday, March 15) of the 2027 USASP Annual Scientific Meeting.

Pre-conference workshops provide an opportunity for participants to explore a topic in greater depth, develop practical knowledge or skills, and engage directly with workshop leaders and other attendees. Proposals may address topics related to pain research, clinical care, education, professional development, advocacy, community engagement, or other areas relevant to the USASP community.

Workshops should be designed to encourage active participation through discussion, demonstrations, case-based learning, small-group activities, skills practice, or other interactive approaches. Presentations should be kept to a minimum to maximize experiential learning opportunities.

Proposal Review and Selection

Proposals will be reviewed based on:

• Relevance and value to the USASP community;

• Quality and clarity of the proposed content;

• Appropriateness of the workshop format and 2-4 learning objectives;

• Opportunities for participant engagement and experiential learning;

• Qualifications and perspectives of the workshop leaders;

• Logistical and financial feasibility;

• Creativity, and;

• Contribution to the balance and breadth of the overall pre-conference program.

Submission of a proposal does not guarantee acceptance. USASP may invite organizers to revise a proposal, adjust its length or format, or collaborate with another proposed workshop when appropriate.
