Leap into active adulthood
The Symposium Leap into active adulthood will take place in October 20th and 21st 2021.
This event will be an opportunity to be informed about the state of knowledge on various topics surrounding the themes of transition and active life to adulthood among young people with autism. Researchers, practitioners, employers and adults with autism will be present to share their knowledge and contribute with members of the audience to achieving the objectives of the symposium.
Program
Poster presentations are held on October 20th from 11am to 1pm. This event will allow researchers, students, clinicians and ministries to present the progress of their projects addressing the transition to adulthood to stakeholders in autism.
Then on October 21st from 9am et 4pm, eleven oral presentations will discuss different themes related to the transition to adulthood, inclusion at work, inclusive recreation, parenting role as an autistic adult.
Objectives of the Event:
1. Encourage the establishment of new collaborations between researchers, practitioners and people with autism leading to partnership agreements.
2. Identify relevant research avenues based on the identified needs.
3. Offer training through interdisciplinary and intersectoral exchanges between the actors of the different systems concerned by the transition of young people with autism to adulthood.
4. Encourage practice informed by research, renewed and interdisciplinary.
5. Openly share knowledge with a wider audience.
