Welcome to the 52nd Annual Physical Organic Mini Symposium - POMS
The Physical-Organic Mini-Symposium (POMS) is a keystone event of physical organic chemistry. Since its inception, the symposium objective has been to bring together a broad ensemble of researchers (chemists, biochemists, physicists, and engineers) to address fundamental questions of mechanism and understand the effect of structure on property. 50 years onward, this knowledge still remains key for the design and preparation materials with tangible outcomes. As such, the conference has evolved to focus on the understanding of the structure of materials and systems at large and their impact on materials’ properties. Contributions included in the discussion weekend are organic and biological reactions, optical electronic materials and devices, solar cells, and machine learning tools along with mechanisms and theory related to materials.
The symposium is an ideal forum to highlight young and upcoming Canadian talent. As a result, young researchers are encouraged to present oral presentations. Undergraduate students are also encouraged to participate.
The symposium will be hosted at the Université de Montréal’s new Science Complex - Campus MIL on November 2-3, 2024.
We look forward to welcoming you in Montreal during POMS in November.
The deadline for submitting abstracts is October 26, 2024.
