CALL FOR PAPERS // SIA POWERTRAIN 2024

IMPORTANT INFORMATION & DEADLINES

Speakers will be allocated 30 minutes each (20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for questions).
All necessary instructions for the preparation of the paper will be sent to the authors after selection.
The lead author (one per paper) will benefit a free access to the conference and meals, 2 co-authors max will benefit from a discount.

• Conference language: ENGLISH
• Proposals for papers must reach us by December 5^th, 2023.
• The successful papers will be selected by the Committees and authors will be notified accordingly by January 2024.
• Successful authors commit themselves to produce a Full Paper (6-8 pages) by May 6^th, 2024 for inclusion in the conference proceedings.
• Presentation must be sent to the SIA by May 27^th, 2024.

Dear colleagues,

The need for a rapid reduction of greenhouse gas emissions is leading to an unprecedented transformation of the automotive industry. Powertrain technologies are key to support this transformation whilst responding to the evolution of mobility needs and assuring its affordability.

It all starts with the production and distribution of electricity, hydrogen and other future CO₂ neutral fuels. The materials and resources used to produce and handle such new energies and powertrains are crucial and form the backbone of this new ecosystem.

The automotive value chain is profoundly transformed. Numerous collaborations, joint ventures, private initiatives, and projects supported by public authorities are supporting this transformation.

Major questions need to be addressed. Where does the energy come from and how do we make most efficient use of it? What about the accessibility to raw materials? Can recycling be a solution and what about the environmental footprint? How does the usage of mobility evolve in various parts of the world and how do we keep it affordable? And how to make best usage of the current fleet of vehicles and make them contribute to CO₂ reduction?

As engineers we cope with such challenges through innovations and developments in the field of battery electric propulsion systems and components, hydrogen powertrains, a variety of CO₂ neutral fuels, eco-design, recycling, new mobility solutions and many more innovations. All this in the context of an efficient, clean and affordable mobility.

The 36th SIA POWERTRAIN // Lille 2024 conference will address the full spectrum of technologies for applications ranging from short range small urban mobility up to long range commercial vehicles.

The SIA POWERTRAIN conference is recognized by automotive stakeholders as an exceptional and unique technical event. International OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, Engineering Companies, and many more will share their latest technologies, projects and results.

The June 2024 edition, for the first time, will move to a new location in France. Lille is located nearby numerous new plants, development centers and initiatives taken by the automotive industry to support these new powertrains. The conference will take place in the city center and provides plenty of opportunity to have a drink and continue exchanging with your peers before and after the conference days.

After the very successful Paris 2023 edition, with more than 700 participants, we invite you to join us on this new adventure in Lille.
