Evaluating Models with Ecological Data

Online and hybrid training.
Courses will be online with the possibility of organizing local hubs (according to public health directives).
Courses will be conducted in English, with bilingual support.
Content
The objective of this course is to train students methods and skills to fit models to ecological data. Emphasis will be put on algorithms and computational methods in order to develop abilities to solve a wide range of problems.
Topics:
- Probability problems and stochastic modelling
- Parameter estimation by maximum likelihood
- Optimization algorithms
- Bayesian analysis modelling
- Representation of the uncertainty

Fees
The registration fee is $250.
Scholarships are available through the BIOS2 training program – a NSERC CREATE program. Announcement of the recipients will be made on July 30, 2021.
NOTE: All participants must pay the registration fee to confirm their participation. If you are a BIOS2 Fellow or if you are awarded a BIOS2 Scholarship, you will receive a $250 refund at the end of the summer school.
