As you prepare your poster for the Harlem Hospital Resident and Fellow Research Day happening April 10th from 4 to 6 pm, please keep in mind the following best practices for posters:

If you would like the Resident Research Day committee to have your poster printed (free to you!), please upload your poster file in pdf format by March 31.
Poster size should be 48 x 36 inches
Please export your poster into pdf format (Use the "Save As" option in PowerPoint and choose .pdf file format)
Add Abstract ID number to your poster
- You can find your Abstract ID number on your abstract submission (or in the Poster Hall) next to the title
Remember most visitors will only view your poster for about 2 to 3 minutes, so they need to be able to absorb the relevant information in that time frame
The focus of the poster session should be on conversations between the viewers and the authors.
- You want your visitors talking to you, not just reading your poster, so your poster should serve as a tool to help you easily convey your research
Try to include more images and graphs & less words
Use Headings and subheadings to orient the viewer
Use bullet points to convey important information, rather than paragraphs
- Keep the text succinct
Consider using a graphic to describe your methods
Use a large enough font so that the information can be read from 10+ feet away.
- Suggested Font sizes - adjusted as needed
  - Title: use 80+ pt font size
  - Headings: use 54+ pt font size
  - Subheadings: use 36-48 pt font size
  - Main body text and captions: 24 - 32+ pt font size
  - Conclusion: 32 - 44 pt font size
Make good use of white space
You can choose to include up to 10 references, but you do not necessarily need to. The references list can be in a smaller font (~14-18).
