Poster boards have a 4 feet x 8 feet horizontal display area mounted on a 6 foot high frame and posters can be attached using push pins (provided).
Accessibility
Accessibility is important for AGS and is a priority for the Colloquium. Accessibility means being able to access information, services, and places without barriers. We kindly remind presenters to consider the size and colours of their text and graphics to ensure the information is available for all to learn - 5-10% of the population experience some level of colour perception differences. Accessible colour palettes and accessible font lists are available online with a quick internet search.
When registering for the luncheon and/or banquet we have provided options for various food considerations but please contact us or use the blank option in the form if we have overlooked something that would make nutrition more accessible for you.
Disabilities can be visible or invisible, chronic or fluctuate. Respect and science are for everyone.
Land Acknowledgement
We acknowledge that the Atlantic Geosciences Society is on the traditional and unceded territories of the Mi’kmaq, Wolastoqey, Peskotomuhkati, Innu, Inuit, and Beothuk. These nations have been present on these lands since time immemorial: from their ancient stores that share important geological knowledge like fossil localities, gem and mineral sites, and more, to John Basque, the first Indigenous Mi’kmaw person to work for the Geological Survey of Canada at its inception in 1843. Indigenous people have always been integral to the study of geology. The knowledge keepers, earth keepers, and land defenders continue to do important geological work across these lands. The Atlantic Geoscience Society recognizes that we are all Treaty People and therefore supports honouring the treaties signed with all levels of government in this region.
