Evaluations
If you are a student, here is some guidance on what the judges are considering when evaluating your oral presentation or poster.
Abstract
Well written with proper spelling and grammar
Authorship includes supervisor(s)
Oral Presentations
Presentation has a logical flow, speaking is clear and confident
Slides are clear and there are appropriate number
Graphics are clear, reasonably sized, and support the research being presented
Scientifically sound, able to answer questions if asked
Speaker finishes on time
Poster Presentations
Please note that posters may be assessed with and without students present - your poster should be understandable even if you're not there.
Sections are well-defined with balanced content and space
Graphics are clear, reasonably sized, and support the research being presented

Posters
We invite poster presentations on any of the special session or general session topics. Poster boards will be available for set up after 2 p.m. on Friday, but must be taken down at 4 p.m. on Saturday. Poster boards have a 4 feet x 8 feet horizontal display area mounted on a 6 foot high frame and posters can be attached using push pins (provided).
Awards
There are four student awards available to be won:
Best Undergraduate Poster - Rob Raeside Award
Best Graduate Poster - Graham Williams Award
Best Undergraduate Student Paper (Presentation) - Rupert MacNeill Award
Best Graduate Student Paper (Presentation) - Sandra Barr Award
