Congrès AIRS 2026 : Recherche, Prévention, Actions !
AIRS Congress 2026: Research, Prevention, Action! will be held from Monday November 2 (evening), to Wednesday November 4 2026, in-person format, in Québec City at the Alphonse-Desjardins Pavilion of Université Laval (2325 rue de l'Université, Québec, G1V 0B3). Registration is free for the first 150 persons, after that a fee will apply (researchers $200, students 50$). Registration is open until October 18, 2026, inclusive. Please note that the program is currently under development.
This edition will highlight research, prevention, and concrete actions in respiratory and auditory health. The congress aims to strengthen connections among members of the respiratory and auditory sectors, stimulate the development of scientific collaborations, and foster the emergence of joint projects. Special attention will be given to the participation of early-career researchers and students, including presentations and activities designed to encourage exchange and networking.
The call for abstracts is open and you have until Monday May 11 2026 at 23:59 to submit your abstract(s). For students, once again this year, many competitions and awards await you ! Please register for the congress first, and then complete the " Dépôt de résumés / (Abstracts) " section.

As a tenured professor at the École supérieure d’aménagement du territoire et de développement régional (ESAD), specializing in urban morphology and design, all of my academic activities lie at the intersection of physical-spatial urban planning, urban design, and urban heritage. They reflect a sustained commitment to professional practice, both in terms of professional training—an essential component at ESAD and key to its accreditation by the OUQ—and in terms of applied research linked to concrete intervention projects.
Dr. Côté and her team aim to identify new subgroups within the asthma population based on biomarkers that are readily available in clinical settings; the groups thus identified are called endotypes. Their goal is to establish a link between clinical presentation and pathophysiology in order to make better use of currently available targeted therapies and even contribute to the development of new molecules. This approach has already demonstrated benefits in other diseases, such as cancer.
Maude Desjardins’ research focuses on various issues related to voice disorders, particularly those involving the development and treatment of muscle tension dysphonia and presbyphonia. Her work seeks, in particular, to determine how different aspects of breathing contribute to the persistence of such problems, in order to validate established clinical practices in the field of speech-language pathology and to guide the development of new, more personalized therapies.
Adrian Fuentes is an associate professor at the School of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Montreal, and has been a regular researcher at the Research Center of the Montreal University Institute of Geriatrics (CRIUGM) since 2015. Trained as an audiologist, he holds a bachelor’s degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Chile, a Ph.D. in audiology from the University of Hong Kong, and a master’s degree in public health from the Harvard School of Public Health.
Dr. Godbout is a clinician and researcher in pulmonology.
Nicole Marquis is a professor in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the School of Rehabilitation within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Dr. Pinsonneault-Skvarenina is an assistant professor in the School of Rehabilitation Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine at Laval University.
Olivier Robin is an assistant professor at the University of Sherbrooke (Quebec, Canada). He holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering (2013, Sherbrooke) and a master’s degree in transportation acoustics (2006, Le Mans, France). He has over 25 years of experience in research and development in acoustics and vibration in various roles. His research focuses on (1) noncontact vibration measurements using cameras or lasers, (2) the vibroacoustics of industrial structures and materials such as wood, with applications in music, and (3) the mapping and reduction of environmental noise for humans and animals.
