General information

The Symposium on Antimicrobial Resistance in Animals and the Environment (ARAE) is a well-established international scientific conference dedicated to antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in the context of animal health, environmental reservoirs, and their implications for human health. The symposium has been held every two years since 2005 and brings together leading experts, researchers, and stakeholders working in veterinary microbiology, epidemiology, molecular biology, and One Health approaches to AMR. Over the years, the ARAE symposium has gained international recognition as a key forum for discussing the emergence, dissemination, and control of antimicrobial resistance in animal-associated ecosystems.

We are thrilled to announce that Canada will host, for the first time in North America, the 11^th International Symposium on Antimicrobial Resistance in Animals and the Environment, taking place May 25-27, 2027 in Montréal. This international event will bring together leading scientists and emerging researchers from Canada, the United States, Europe, and beyond. It promises a unique platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and showcasing cutting-edge research on the global challenge of antimicrobial resistance.

CRIPA Symposium

This edition, the Swine and Poultry Infectious Diseases Research Center (CRIPA) Symposium becomes a satellite event of the 11th Symposium on Antimicrobial Resistance in Animals and the Environment (ARAE), which will take place at the Mont-Royal Center on the fourth day, May 28, 2027. The CRIPA Symposium is a free separate event from the ARAE and requires separate registration, directly on the CRIPA website.
