QBIN Scholarships 2023-2024
Program objectives
The QBIN Scholarship programs are open to QBIN members and provide recruitment scholarships to Masters and PhD students and support scholarships to postdoctoral researchers. The scholarships can only be requested once per program and cannot be held concurrently with a scholarship from of a granting agency (e.g. IRSC, FRQS.)

Recruitment scholarships for Master's students
We are pleased to provide recruitment scholarships to Master’s students ($6000) in the field of bio-imaging. Applications will be evaluated based on the quality of the proposed project, training environment, and academic record.
Eligibility criteria:
- The applicant must be a QBIN member (become a member)
- The applicant's supervisor must be a QBIN regular or emerging member (refer to our membership directory or ask them to become a member)
- The project must be directly related to bio-imaging
- The applicant must be enrolled in a full-time research program in a Quebec university
Master’s degree awards are intended for applicants who have enrolled in a research program. For this competition, students who started their program in Fall 2022 or later are admissible, and students who are registered to start their program in Fall 2023 are admissible.
Doctoral students in psychology are also eligible for this award if they are enrolled in terms 1, 2 or 3 of their program as of June 30th, 2023, or if they intend to start their program in Fall 2023.

* Training at Bachelor level and/or relevant experience (5 points)
* Publications & communications (5 points)

Support scholarships for Postdocs
We are pleased to provide support scholarships ($8000) to postdoctoral researchers who do not hold a nominal fellowship. These scholarships are intended to help boost the CV of postdoctoral researchers in order to increase their chances of obtaining larger grants and fellowships in the future. Applications will be evaluated based on the quality of the proposed project, training environment, and academic record of the applicant.
Eligibility criteria:
- The applicant must be a QBIN member (become a member)
- The applicant's supervisor must be a QBIN regular or emerging member (refer to our membership directory or ask them to become a member)
- The project must be directly related to bio-imaging
- The applicant must not hold a nominal fellowship

- Project description (2 pages - Times New Roman font size 12 with 1-inch margins)
- Description of training and research environment (1/2 page - Times New Roman font size 12 with 1-inch margins)
- Transcripts (Master's and PhD)
- CV (FRQS CCV including detailed contributions)
- Letter of Support from the supervisor (to be submitted separately by the supervisor)

Submission Instructions
To apply for any of the scholarship programs, use the submission form.
You will be asked to upload all required documents in a single PDF file. This should include your project description, transcripts, and CV.
For PhD and Postdoc scholarships, the applicant's supervisor will need to submit a Letter of Support separately from the student's application. It is the responsibility of the applicant to contact their supervisor and ensure that they submit their Letter of Support before the application deadline (June 4th, 2023, 11:30p.m.).
If you are a supervisor submitting a Letter of Support for a student application, please go to the submission page, select "Supervisor's Letter of Support" as the Submission Type, enter N/A in the title and abstract sections, and then proceed to the upload section.
Any document that is missing or does not comply with the rules of the program and the electronic forms, but deemed critical for eligibility or assessment, will render the file ineligible.
No documents sent by email or mail will be accepted.
