11th annual meeting of the Biophysical Society of Canada (BSC)

University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Manitoba

May 19-22, 2026

The Annual Meeting of the Biophysical Society of Canada (BSC) is an essential vehicle for the dissemination of current research in the field of biophysics. It highlights recent contributions of biophysical approaches to molecular and cellular biology, biotechnologies, medicine, drug discovery, biosensor technology and materials science. Each year, this meeting attracts over 200 trainees and researchers from across Canada, fostering networking and collaborations by allowing in person discussions between often geographically distant research groups.

Scientific sessions have been planned to include a number of topics, from single molecule to tissue biophysics, and to cover theoretical, experimental and computational approaches. This year's meeting includes a panel on EDIA in science, with invited guests whose expertise and input will support a lively and engaging conversation.

The 2026 Annual Meeting of the BSC will take place at University of Manitoba (Winnipeg, MB), on a walkable campus adjacent to the Red River.

General Information: BSC 2026 will be an in-person, 4-day single-track meeting designed to maximize interactions between participants and foster a sense of community. The meeting will start with a trainee symposium on May 19th, both organized and aimed at trainees, followed by an opening reception. Starting at 9 am on Wednesday, May 20, the next 3 days (May 20-22) will be a mix of invited and contributed lectures, poster sessions and exhibits by companies. The meeting will end at 2:30 pm on Friday.

Following awards addresses on Thursday afternoon, the annual BSC banquet dinner will be held at the Fort Garry Hotel. Registration fees will also cover lunches for May 20-22, the poster reception on the evening of May 20, and the banquet dinner on May 21.
