Getting Started

Supervisors join the program by submitting a short Expression of Interest (EOI) to be considered for the Supervisors and Projects list.
EOIs are accepted on an ongoing basis and reviewed regularly. Approved project postings are shared publicly so postdoctoral candidates can browse opportunities and contact supervisors directly.
Key requirements
RI-MUHC appointment: You must hold an active RI-MUHC scientist/investigator appointment
Cost-shared model: Foundations cover 70% of annual stipend ($49K/year) and supervisors commit 30% ($21K/year)
Funding requirement: You must hold eligible external peer-reviewed funding that can support the supervisor contribution to the fellow’s stipend, through:
- Active/confirmed funding, or
- Approved/pending funding with a Notice of Decision, or
- Anticipated funding with a credible plan and timeline (reviewed case-by-case)
Note: Foundation support alone does not qualify for the supervisor portion.
Key notes
Public posting: Your project title, overview, and contact information will be posted publicly — keep content suitable for broad audiences and avoid confidential or unpublished details
Co-supervision welcome: Encouraged for interdisciplinary and translational projects
Program ambassadors: Supervisors with approved EOIs are encouraged to share the opportunity through professional networks (e.g., conferences, talks, collaborations) to help attract strong candidates
