The organizing committee for the 62nd WFDW is happy to welcome you to our event website! Here you will find information about the conference and the Continuing Education session. If you have a question that isn't addressed on this website, please contact us. More information including a detailed schedule, abstract book, and speaker list will be posted as we get closer to the meeting.

What you need to know about the WFDW

Registration

Registration will be done through our website. Please note that all payments are in $US and as such we have provided 2 choices for attendees (travellers from the US or from Canada). We have done this to ensure everyone pays the same amount for registration to this event so please choose your country of origin.

Accommodations

Rooms at the Tigh-Na-Mara resort are being offered to participants at the WFDW at a standard rate of CA $219/night. Rates are based on single/double occupancy with an additional $20/adult or $10.00 for each child aged 6-17/night. Children aged 5 years and younger are complimentary. Please contact the hotel directly before May 5, 2023 to book your room at the above stated rate and indicate that you are with the Western Fish Disease Workshop.

Agenda

The meeting will run from the evening of June 5th through June 8th. We will be hosting the opening social and poster session on June 5th. Check out the schedule, which has a link to each of the abstract presentations. We have a jam packed agenda for talks and posters and we hope you will enjoy the range of presentations.

Registration for the WFDW includes a banquet ticket for dinner on Wednesday night (June 7th). Vegetarian options will be available for the included meals, but if you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know ahead of the event such that we can arrange with this with the resort (please email mark.higgins@dfo-mpo.gc.ca with your requests).

If you would like to invite a guest to the banquet, tickets will be $70pp (CDN) payable at the door. To help us calculate final numbers for the banquet, if you plan on bringing that special someone, please contact mark.higgins@dfo-mpo.gc.ca and let him know that an extra ticket will be needed.

General Sessions will take place on June 6th and 7th. The Continuing Education session, 'Impacts of Climate Change on Aquatic Animal Health', will take place on June 8th. This session has now been approved for 4.5 hours of RACE credits.

Important Dates

The deadline to book hotel rooms at the discounted rate is May 5, 2023.

The deadline for abstract submissions is May 28, 2023.

The deadline for registration is May 30, 2023.
