CEEHRC Pre-Symposium on Epigenetic Inheritance

The pre-symposium takes place on October 6, 2026 from 9am-5pm BEFORE the start of the CEEHRC Main Meeting. The pre-symposium is optional and available as an add-on to the main CEEHRC meeting. Participation in this workshop would require an extra night's stay at the venue on October 5.

Program Overview

The CEEHRC Pre-Symposium on Epigenetic Inheritance will convene international leaders in molecular biology, genomics, long-read sequencing technologies, epidemiology, and experimental model systems for an intensive one-day examination of how environmentally responsive epigenetic information is transmitted across generations. The program will integrate mechanistic insights from animal models with evidence from human cohorts, highlighting advances in genomic and long-read approaches that are redefining the field. Designed as a highly interactive forum, the day will emphasize discussion, critical evaluation, and audience participation through structured roundtables and a capstone debate addressing whether current evidence supports a role for epigenetic inheritance in rapid evolutionary processes. Attendance will be capped at 70 participants

Trainee participation costs for the pre-meeting are fully covered for a limited number of individuals and REQUIRES APPLICATION (DEADLINE: August 7, 2026). Paid registration to the CEEHRC meeting is still mandatory.
