8e édition du colloque annuel du CERMO-FC
Welcome to the 8th edition!
CERMO-FC is delighted to welcome you to the 8th edition of its annual symposium, which will be held on Wednesday, November 18 and Friday, November 20, 2026, at the Boiler Room in the UQAM Science Centre.
For these days, the scientific community working on rare diseases and their partners will gather to share their work, discover new expertise, and discuss advances in rare disease research. Whether you are a member of CERMO-FC, the RARE.Qc network, or simply interested in this field of research, we hope this symposium will be an opportunity to make valuable connections, explore new ideas, and forge fruitful collaborations.
This edition will particularly highlight presentations by CERMO-FC students. Oral and poster presentations will offer them a unique opportunity to present their work, develop their scientific experience, and showcase their research. The deadline for abstract submissions is October 8, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Each laboratory may submit up to two applications for an oral presentation. To allow as many people as possible to participate, priority will be given to those who have not yet presented an oral communication at a previous CERMO-FC annual conference.
We are also delighted to welcome Émilia Liana Falcone, physician-researcher and Director of the Microbiome and Mucosal Defenses Research Unit at the Montreal Clinical Research Institute (IRCM), who will deliver the plenary lecture on Friday. Her research, which focuses on the interactions between the microbiome, the immune system, and infectious diseases, illustrates the importance of fostering dialogue between basic, translational, and clinical research to better understand diseases and improve patient health.
