2020 CHHD Research Day (6th Annual)

Welcome to the 6th Annual 2020 CHHD Research Day

Child Health and Human development Research Day is organized to provide the program members and guests to learn about the research in the program, reinforce and initiate collaborations.

To adapt our Research day to the current health crisis due to covid-19, this event will be held online as safety and health of our members is our priority.

Oral presentation will be held on Zoom.

Poster presentation will be held on the Fourwaves virtual poster platform which allows poster sessions to be interactive. You'll be able to roam poster to poster, see which posters have ongoing conversations and join them and ask your questions live to the presenter in a video conversation. Up to 8 persons will be able to join the presenter for a virtual video discussion!

All CHHD members from the CTB and CORE are invited to participate in this event!

CHHD Trainees will be put forward as we want this event to be an opportunity for you to show your results to your peers, receive feedback on your work and most of all, improve your communication skills which is primordial for any future researchers.

This Research day will also allow everyone to listen to oral presentations from a few of our invited Principal Investigators, and an Invited Speaker!

Registration

Deadline: Thursday, November 5th, 12pm.

All attendees will need to register to have access to the program, presentation abstracts and the virtual poster platform.

Every presenter is required to register before submitting an abstract.

Submission - Abstract (Closed)

Deadline: Tuesday, October 13th, 11:30pm

Extended deadlines (update: Oct 14):

Oral: Thursday October 15th, 11:30pm,

Poster: Wednesday October 21th, 11:30pm

All presenters need to submit an abstract and select if they would prefer a poster or oral presentation.

Presenters will be informed 3 days after the submission deadline which type of presentation they will be appointed by the Research day committee.

Presentations will be judged and awards will be given to the top three best presentations of the day in each category*!

Abstract requirement: 300 words

* Only Poster and Oral Presentations by trainees will be considered for awards

Poster and oral presentations

Oral presentations will be held on Zoom.

• Presenters will be asked to prepare a Powerpoint and a presentation of 10 minutes.
• The presenter will be asked to share their screen at the moment of their presentation time slot. Please make sure you already tried this option on your computer.
• Judges and attendees will be allowed to ask questions at the end of each presentation.

Poster presentations will be held on the Fourwaves virtual platform.

• Presenters will be allowed to upload their files through the submission form that will be made again available between October 28th, 9am and November 5th, 5pm.
• Presenters will be able to upload a poster in image format (gif, jpeg, jpg, png) and the ability to submit their poster deconstructed as 7 slides (ppt, pptx). Uploaded should be 30MB or less.
• Presenter will be asked to prepare a 5 minutes presentation.

Please take note that abstracts and files will be available the day of the event only for those who have registered for the event.

Attendees will be able to consult your abstract and all your uploaded files.

During the poster session, attendees will be able to select a poster and start a virtual video conversation with the presenter. Other attendees will be able to join the conversation at any moment (up to 8 people at the same time).
