He worked with Jim Hendry’s Group in the Department of Geological Sciences, University of Saskatchewan between 2007 and 2017 initially as Post-doctoral Research Fellow and later as Professional Research Associate.

His research interests are:
• Characterization of mine waste (waste rock and tailings) to determine their long-term geochemical stability, and the environmental impact of the potential transport of contaminants from mine waste storage facilities to the receiving environment and,

• Design and development of alternative industrial effluent/mine water treatment methods that create discharged effluent that is optimize for long-term protection of the environment.

Dr. Matt LindsayProfessor; Department of Geological Sciences, University of Saskatchewan

Dr. Lindsay is a Professor in the Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Saskatchewan. His research in environmental geochemistry and mineralogy broadly examines controls on metal mobility in the terrestrial hydrosphere. Lindsay is particularly interested in complex metal-mineral interactions under dynamic environmental conditions, where diverse reaction pathways can produce non-intuitive outcomes for metal mobility and bioavailability.

What is CMA?

The Canadian Mineral Analysts (CMA), formed in 1969, is an association comprised of Canadian earth science, mineral exploration and mining analytical laboratories in government, academic institutions, the mining industry, and the private sector. Members include manufacturers and suppliers of instruments and equipment for analytical laboratories, as well as suppliers of laboratory consumables.

The annual conference and exhibition provide an opportunity for analysts, technical staff, and managers to exchange information and to develop lasting and meaningful contacts with their colleagues in the mining industry and with manufacturers and suppliers of analytical equipment and related products and services. The CMA publishes the proceedings of each annual meeting, which contains all the technical and informational papers presented at the conference, and makes them available to all CMA members and meeting attendees.
