Co-Creation of Digital Health Solutions Workshop 2026
Two days to work in teams on a real digital health question, chosen together from the lived experience of patient and citizen partners. No competition and no code to deliver: each team leaves with a roadmap, a mock-up and a public-facing visual of its project.
Free, meals included.
What you will learn
How health data ethics and governance work in Quebec
How to turn a lived problem into a research question
What makes a solution feasible, then sustainable: ethics, deployment, funding
Make an idea clear: mock-up, visual, plain-language summary
How to work with people from other disciplines
Who is it for
No programming experience is required. This is actually the starting point of the workshop: a digital health question cannot be solved with code alone. The workshop is held in French. Presentations and panels will be mostly in French, so a good understanding of French is required. At the tables, you can talk in French or English.
Patient and citizen partners
Students in health, public health, nursing, pharmacy, kinesiology
Students in data, statistics, computer science, artificial intelligence
Students in design, art, communication
Students in social sciences, urban planning, environment, law
Mentors are invited by the RSN team, based on the needs of the program. You are based in Quebec and would like to support a team? Write to us at rsn.central@rimuhc.ca.
Citizens at the heart of the process
The workshop does not start with a technology. It starts with a person.
The questions come from citizens, patient partners and clinicians. On Thursday morning, each citizen partner presents their situation in one minute, and teams form around them. Citizen partners are present both days and co-create the final work.
If you have a concern to share, write to us at rsn.central@rimuhc.ca. It could become one of the problems explored during the workshop.
Compensation for patient and citizen partners. Your participation is paid: $250 per day of attendance, up to $500 for the two days. After the event, we will contact you to complete the required documents. Payment follows 3 to 4 weeks after we receive them. This compensation is taxable and may affect some benefits: details are in the registration form.
The three deliverables
Roadmap: one page on a template, with the question and three next steps.
Mock-up: 3 to 5 screens on paper, Figma, Canva or PowerPoint, showing at least one piece of data. No code.
Public-facing visual: a one-page poster in the RSN template, easy for the general public to understand.
Each team splits across the three parts, with at least two people per part and dedicated mentors for each. No design or programming training is needed.
