Applicable to those attending the in-person Conference section from June 1 - 5, 2025.

The Canadian Sociological Association Conference is held as part of the larger Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences therefore those wishing to attend our Conference at George Brown College must register through Congress (registration opens in January 2025).

There are two components in the delegate registration fee; the ‘Congress Base Fee’ and the ‘Association Conference Fee’.

When registering as a delegate, you will be asked to select the Association Conference(s) you will be attending. To participate in the CSA Conference, select ‘#59 - Canadian Sociological Association / Société canadienne de sociologie (CSA-SCS)’ and appropriate fee category.

Congress Delegate Categories and Fees

The Congress Base Fees listed below will increase as of March 21, 2025.

Members of the Canadian Sociological Association (CSA) benefit from reduced Association Conference Fee rates.

Only those attending the Conference as observers (not participating as a chair, moderator, discussant, presenter, or panelist) are eligible for the CSA Association Conference Fee Non-Member Rate.

Black and Indigenous Students : You are a student who self-identifies as Black or Indigenous.

Congress Base Fee: $0

CSA Association Conference Fee Member Rate: $0

CSA Association Conference Fee Non-Member Rate: $80

Special Reduced Congress Fee: You are a student, K-12 educator, retired, or unemployed.

Congress Base Fee: $84

CSA Association Conference Fee Member Rate: $60

CSA Association Conference Fee Non-Member Rate: $80

Reduced Congress Fee: You are underemployed (part-time, seasonal or temporary) or a postdoctoral researcher.

Congress Base Fee: $165

CSA Association Conference Fee Member Rate: $60

CSA Association Conference Fee Non-Member Rate: $80

Regular Attendee: You are employed full-time.

Congress Base Fee: $220

CSA Association Conference Fee Member Rate: $100

CSA Association Conference Fee Non-Member Rate: $125

Those participating in the virtual sessions (June 9 - June 13, 2025) as a chair, discussant, presenter, or panelist, are required to pay a nominal fee to help the CSA off-set the costs of facilitating the sessions (virtual platform and staffing).

This fee is not required for those who have registered as Congress delegates with the CSA Conference to also participate in the in-person sessions (June 1 - June 5, 2025).

There is no fee for those wishing to attend the virtual sessions as observers only.

Virtual Registration Reduced Rate: You are a student, postdoctoral researcher, retired, underemployed (part-time, seasonal, or temporary), or unemployed.

Fee: $20 CAD + applicable sales tax

Virtual Registration Regular Rate: You are employed full-time by an academic, government, or community organization.

Fee: $50 CAD + applicable sales tax
