ResNet--a network funded by NSERC's Strategic Initiatives for monitoring, modelling, and managing Canadian ecosystem services for sustainability and resilience--invites you to join us at the first public screening for “Heritage and High Tides: The Evolving Story of Nova Scotia's Dykelands”. This short documentary film explores ecosystem management options and decision-making considerations in a unique agricultural landscape with many different opinions about the best way forward for adapting to climate change. Screening of this short film will be followed by a lively discussion about working with non-academic partners, filmmaking and communication for science, and public engagement. We will also give a brief demonstration of the newly developed Ecosystems Services Observatory System for Canada (ESOS-C), ResNet’s online platform for exploring the provision of multiple ecosystem services that can be used to assist ecosystem managers. We’ll provide popcorn and the red carpet; you provide the questions and comments!
