2026 CWSS/SCM Annual Meeting

On behalf of the Canadian Weed Science Society / Société Canadienne de Malherbologie, we wish to welcome you to our 2026 Annual General Meeting. The theme of this year’s meeting is Managing Multiple Herbicide-Resistant Weeds. The conference will be held at the Delta Hotels Saskatoon Downtown, located at 405 20th Street East, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada from November 23^rd to 26^th, 2026.

Conference organizers are developing an exciting program pertaining to various aspects of weed science, invasive plants, and herbicide resistance across Canada. The program includes graduate student presentations, roundtable discussions, posters and concurrent presentation sessions.

New this year, we are pleased to introduce a special meeting on Monday, November 23, bringing together growers, agronomists, researchers, and industry representatives to discuss emerging technologies and approaches to weed management. Called the "Grower - Industry Connect" meeting, it is available as a stand alone day or an optional add-on to our regular conference proceedings.

Saskatoon is located on treaty land, referred to as Treaty 6 Territory and the City of Saskatoon and all the people here are beneficiaries of this treaty. From the time of the treaties the Plains Cree have been the most common Indigenous people in the Saskatoon region, but other First Nations cultures are also present including the Saulteaux or Plains Ojibwe, Dakota and the Nakoda or Assiniboine.

Saskatchewan is a powerhouse of agriculture and farming, contributing significantly to Canada’s economy. The province is home to over 40% of Canada’s cultivated farmland and produces a wide rate of agricultural products including grains, oilseeds and livestock. Saskatoon is a vibrant city with a mix of nature and urban life, providing a glimpse into the rich history, natural beauty, and cultural diversity of Saskatoon.

1. Western Development Museum: The largest human history museum in Saskatchewan, offering a collection of over 75,000 artifacts and exhibits.
