Chair: Esther VAN ZIMMEREN (University of Antwerp) Speakers: Klaus GRABINSKI (Unified Patent Court), Kai HÄRMAND (Unified Patent Court), Alessandro SANCHINI (Modiano), Véronique PEDE (Gevers IP Law)
Moderator: Laura SHERIDAN (Google)Panelists:Professor Stefania FUSCO Professor Mark LEMLEY Professor Rafal SIKORSKI Professor Martin STIERLE Description: Patent remedies are getting significant attention on both sides of the Atlantic. In the United States, the Supreme Court’s eBay decision is experiencing policy discussion, activity in the courts, and proposed legislation. In Europe, the IPRED’s proportionality requirement is receiving similar interest, with a Commission report on its application, questions from Parliament, and recent UPC appeals. This panel will explore the patent remedies frameworks for the United States and Europe, discuss their impact on innovation, and debate whether changes may be needed - and if so, what those might be.
