Québec-Océan 2025 Annual Scientific Meeting

Dear Québec-Océan community,

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to attend our Annual Scientific Meeting 2025 on February 26 and 27, 2025 at the Hôtel Universel in Rivière-du-Loup. It will be preceded on February 25 by a friendly and stimulating Student Day!

While the end of 2024 marks the beginning of the exploration of our solar system's icy oceans, the remotest parts of our ocean remain a frontier that stirs the imagination and attracts the efforts of oceanographers to unravel its mysteries. In 2024, the acceleration of ocean warming will have become more than ever the key challenge facing our discipline: we need to document the last areas of perennial ice, predict the impact on global circulation and flexibly adjust our fisheries management methods. Nevertheless, surprises await us as we explore, and our understanding of, and passion for, the ocean is only strengthened as a result.

As you know, this meeting belongs to you; it's a unique opportunity to gather around our shared oceanographic passions, and to review your latest discoveries, achievements and plans for understanding and protecting our ocean (and ourselves).

And we'll be privileged to welcome internationally renowned, talented and inspiring guest speakers who have honored us by joining Québec-Océan as co-researchers this year!

We'll also have the opportunity to network with colleagues in oral and poster sessions, as well as at social events.

The Student Day will feature two workshops on the use of artificial intelligence in science, and oral scientific communication in all its facets.
