Frequently Asked Questions
The event will be held from June 18 - 20, 2026, both in Berlin, Germany and online.
The congress fee for in-person participation includes access to all congress events from September 18th to September 20th with the exception of the social evening. It also includes lunch and coffee on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The congress fee for online participation includes remote access to all congress events except the in-person poster presentations and the social evening.
All congress fees include access for 2 years to recordings of the congress events.
Our congress is hybrid in terms of attendance. In-person presentation in Berlin is the standard for all programme contributions, as this best supports interaction, exchange, and the overall congress experience.
We recognise that long-distance travel may not be feasible for all contributors. In exceptional cases, oral presentations may be delivered live online in real time, subject to programme fit, time zones, and technical feasibility. If this may apply to you, please contact us as early as possible at isfam@charite.de.
Format-specific notes:
Oral presentations: In-person delivery is strongly preferred; limited live virtual presentations may be possible in exceptional cases.
Workshops: Workshops are delivered on site in Berlin.
Artistic contributions: Artistic contributions are delivered on site in Berlin.
Poster presentations: Poster presenters are expected to attend on site during their assigned poster sessions.
Please note that pre-recorded presentations cannot be accommodated.
An oral presentation at the ISfAM Congress in Berlin lasts 10 minutes for content delivery followed by a 5-minute discussion, allowing for an in-depth exploration of research. In contrast, posters will be displayed and groups will be organized to visit posters and hear 3-minute presentations from authors. They emphasize concise visual communication with brief, one-on-one discussions during dedicated sessions.

All abstracts will be blinded for review by the Scientific Committee of the Congress, and authors will be notified of acceptance or rejection by February 2026.

Yes, all selected speakers must register for the congress, either for in-person attendance in Berlin or for remote participation.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer a discount for speakers for this event. However, there is a discounted registration rate and a limited number of scholarships available. Email us for details.
You can register online through the Congress website when registration opens.
Yes. Please see early bird registration fees on our congress website. The early bird rate is available until 28 February 2026.
We encourage you to join us in person, but understand this is not a possibility for everybody. Online registration fees are lower than in person participation.
Students will be able to access reduced rates.
No. You do not have to be a member to register for the conference. However, ISfAM members enjoy many benefits, including a signficant discount for the registration fees.

Each participant of the conference will register and pay respective registration fees as an individual.
No. When you register for the Congress, you will register for the entire period from June 18 to 20, 2026.
You will receive confirmation that you paid for the Congress upon request. Additionally, a congress attendance certificate will be issued upon check-in at the congress venue for in-person participants.
Congress sessions will be recorded and available for viewing by paid congress registrants on demand after the Congress.

Yes, we will have a social evening on a boat on Friday, June 19. The evening offers an opportunity for informal exchange, framed by artistic activities. The price of 50 Euros includes entry to the bar. food from the buffet and non-alcoholic drinks. You will be asked if you want to participate in the registration process.
All sessions will be in English. We are exploring the possibility of translation but cannot ensure this at the moment.
No hotel rooms have been reserved for the ISfAM Congress. However, there are several good hotels near Berlin Central Station, which is only a 5-minute walk from the conference venue. Unfortunately, we are unable to make any recommendations.
