XXVth ISM Graduate Student Conference - 2023
Welcome
The organizing committee of the XXVth Graduate Student Conference of the Institut des Sciences Mathématiques is pleased to welcome you to the Université de Sherbrooke in June 2023! This conference brings together the community of graduate students in mathematics from all of Quebec’s universities for a weekend each year. During the event, participants have the opportunity to attend five plenary sessions, to present their own work if they wish, and to take part in social activities.

General information
Dates : Friday june 9, 2023 at 17:00 to Sunday june 11, 2023 at 12:00
Location : Faculté des Sciences (D7), Université de Sherbrooke, Sherbrooke
Registration fee (including meals, excluding transport and accomodation) : 30 $ (taxes included)
The price includes all meals from Friday evening to Sunday morning: a wine and cheese night, a restaurant dinner, a lunch, two breakfasts as well as coffee and snacks during the weekend. It also includes items given to the participants, and more!
Each participant is responsible for booking their own accommodation and transportation. These costs may be partially reimbursed directly by ISM. Detailed information regarding room reservations at the university residences and low-cost transportation is provided below on this page.

Back this year : Student presentations
Graduate students are invited to present their work on a mathematical topic of their choice. Presentations are 20 minutes in length, followed by 10 minutes of questions. You may submit a summary of your presentation in the Submission section once your registration is done.
*Please note that it is not required to give a presentation to participate in the conference.
New this year: Mathematical postcards!
This year, we're inviting all participants to submit a poster in postcard format, consisting of a very short text and a figure/drawing related to mathematical content. You can attach your postcard via your registration form (at the time of registration or later). An optional LaTeX template is available in the next section.
The organizing committee will take care of printing all the cards received and making them available to participants, to exchange and learn more about our colleagues' research.
No presentation is attached to the mathematical postcard. A participant can submit a postcard and/or a presentation*.

Accommodation and Transport
Accommodation
A block of rooms in the University residences is available for students from outside Sherbrooke.
The associated rates are as follows.*
Small room, single bed: $55 for one night or $90 for two nights
Large room, double bed or two single beds: $65 for one night or $110 for two nights
*Fees may increase after May 29, 2023.
To make a reservation, simply send an email to aucampus@usherbrooke.ca (or call 819-821-8000 ext. 62669) and specify that the reservation is in connection with the Colloque panquébécois de l'ISM 2023.
There are parking fees at all times at the University, but a $7/day parking permit can be requested and paid for at the time of reservation.
Transport
To get to Sherbrooke from Montreal, Quebec City or Trois-Rivières, intercity public transportation services exist (Limocar, La Québécoise). See https://www.destinationsherbrooke.com/fr/infos-pratiques/se-rendre-a-sherbrooke for the different options.
Reimbursement
Partial reimbursement of travel and accomodation will depend on the number of participants. For reimbursement of your travel and accommodation expenses, please retain all itemized invoices, receipts and tickets. Receipts must indicate that you have paid. If you are driving to Sherbrooke, you must keep a gas receipt and/or parking ticket from the University. You should also indicate if other participants carpooled with you. Then you can send all your documents and your home address to haedrich.alexandra@uqam.ca.
