Friday Technical Discussion
ISRP is organising an additional seminar on Friday 23rd October, in association with its international conference in Montreal in October 2026. This will be hosted at École de technologie supérieure, near the conference venue.
The seminar will provide participants an opportunity to become acquainted with areas of current attention in the field of respiratory protection, along with an appreciation of associated research under way in eastern Canada. As well as suiting specialists in respiratory protection, the event will be of particular interest for students and early career professionals in the occupational health and safety sector, or those considering specializing in that area.
Subjects planned for discussion are:
Existing and emerging challenges in respiratory protection that new technologies can address, as well as recent developments in regulations and standards.
Partnerships between government, academia and industry.
Sustainable technologies and products and in respiratory protection.
Application of new developments in sensor technology and artificial intelligence for improved protection in hazardous workplaces.
Modelling of respirator performance.
A further objective of the event will be to invite suggestions from the participants to identify critical areas in the field that need resolution, and to promote development of partnerships and establishment of projects for ongoing focus on these.
Registration for the seminar includes a box lunch and an after-event social hour.
