Presentation, Power Pitch and Oral Presentation Upload Instructions.

To enable a smooth transition between speakers we are requiring that power pitch and oral presentation slides are uploaded prior to the conference (before October 25th). You can upload your slides by editing your submission via the Fourwaves platform, where fields for poster and slide uploads have been added. You can find more instructions for editing your submission here.

All posters should be physically printed for display at the conference. We are also encouraging attendees to also upload a digital version of the poster so that attendees have easy access to your work. These can also be uploaded via the Fourwaves platform by editing your submission.

Oral Presentation Guidelines

We are excited to feature both 1-minute power pitches and 12-minute oral presentations at the conference. While the format and design of your slides are flexible, all presenters are required to adhere strictly to their allocated time slots.

  • 1-Minute Power Pitch: This format is designed for a rapid, high-impact pitch of your research. This is meant to be a teaser for your poster, rather than a presentation of all your results Pitches will be 1 slide with no animations and will adhere strictly to the 1 minute time limit.

  • 12-Minute Oral Presentation: This session provides more time for an in-depth discussion of your work. Your presenttion will be 12 minutes followed by 3 minutes for questions. Time limits will be strictly enforced to keep the sessions on schedule.

To ensure a smooth transition between speakers, please upload your final presentation in PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx) or PDF (.pdf) format to the fourwaves platform prior to the start of the conference (before October 25th).

Poster Requirements

All oral and power pitch presenters will have a poster presentation slot as well. Your poster must be in portrait orientation, and no more than 65 cm wide (25.5”) and 120 cm long (48”). While there are no specific requirements for the structure or layout, we encourage a design that is clear, visually engaging, and effectively communicates your research. Your goal should be to create a poster that is legible from a distance and stimulates insightful discussion with your peers.

You are expected to stand by your poster for your presentation on your presentation date from 1-3 pm. You can find your presentation date on your Fourwaves account on the conference website.

All posters should be hung in Max Bell 252/253 before 1pm on Monday, October 26th. You can access these rooms Sunday Oct 25 5-7 pm, and then again from 8am on Monday Oct 26. Your poster will remain up until Wednesday, October 28th, and can be removed between 5-7pm. Any posters remaining at 7pm Oct 28th will be recycled.

Although posters will be presented in physical form (please print prior to the conference), you are encouraged to upload a digital version of your poster prior to the conference as well to allow for easy browsing for fellow attendees.
