The location
The school will be held at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Verona (Verona, Italy). Here you can explore the main areas of the building, from the classrooms used for teaching activities to the cafeteria where we will have lunch breaks.

The winter school will be held next to a university catering service. You will have the choice to either eat there or explore the surrounding on your own.

From the Airport
You can reach Verona Porta Nuova train station using the Airlink shuttle bus, which runs fre takes approximately 15 minutes. The ticket costs around €6.
You can buy Airlink tickets:
online or through the ATV app;
directly on board (using debit/credit card);
at the ticket machine located in the Arrivals area of the airport.
From Verona Porta Nuova, you can continue your journey by bus (see details below).
From the Train Station (Verona Porta Nuova)
Take bus 21 or 22 and get off at “Policlinico Borgo Roma”.
From the City Centre
Take bus 21 or 22 and get off at “Policlinico Borgo Roma”,
or take bus 72 and get off at “Via Da Polenta A”.
Tickets for all city buses can be purchased via the ATV app or on board using debit/credit cards.
Please note: the evening bus service in Verona operates on different hours, and in some areas an on-demand (booking required) service replaces regular buses. Check details here.

Bike Sharing
Verona Bike - App available for iOS and Android
The Verona Bike service can be accessed through its app (available for iOS and Android), allowing you to easily rent both standard and electric bicycles.
You can activate the Week Plan for €5, which includes the first 30 minutes free for each ride on standard bikes.
The second 30 minutes on standard bikes costs €0.50.
For electric bikes, the rates are:
€0.25 for the first 30 minutes
€0.50 for the second 30 minutes

Good to Know 🎭
Weather in Verona (late February)
Expect cool and crisp weather, with daytime temperatures typically ranging from 8 to 10 °C and nighttime lows near 0 to 2 °C.
We recommend packing a warm jacket, layers, and a light rain‑proof coat, as conditions can be humid and occasional rain is not uncommon.
Weekend tips and local events
If you plan to stay in Verona the weekend before the course, note that the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics will take place at the Arena di Verona.
If you plan to stay in the city for the weekend after the course, please note that on the first Sunday of every month, all municipal museums offer admission for €1.
This special rate includes major attractions such as the Arena di Verona, making it an excellent opportunity to explore the city’s cultural heritage at an affordable price.
