The IUCr 2026 Congress is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment for all members of our community—including those with families. We recognize that access to reliable childcare can be a critical factor in whether someone is able to attend a scientific meeting, and we believe that caregiving responsibilities should never be a barrier to participation.

To support parents, caregivers, and families, on-site daycare services will be available during the Congress. This program is designed to provide safe, professional, and engaging care for children while allowing parents and guardians to fully participate in the scientific program. By offering childcare support, we aim to ensure that everyone who wants to attend IUCr 2026 has the opportunity to do so.

Additional details about registration, eligibility, hours, and costs are provided below.

Family-Friendly Congress Support

On-site childcare will be provided by a licensed childcare provider, Heritage Nanny Agency, and will be available daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., August 12-18, 2026. Children up to age 16 are eligible to participate, and lunch will be provided each day.

The Congress will subsidize childcare costs up to a designated cap to help keep this service accessible. Once the subsidy limit is reached, additional requests will be placed on a waiting list. The registration fee is $100 per child.

After registration and payment are complete, families will receive a follow-up email with a link to register their child directly with the licensed childcare provider.
