Payment Deadlines

To take advantage of reduced early-bird registration rates, all fees must be paid in full by the early-bird deadline (March 31, 2026). Standard rates apply for payments made after this date. All payments must be received before participants can access the Congress. Unpaid registrations will not be processed, and onsite rates will apply for registrations not completed in advance.

If you plan to apply for a bursary award, please contact Kristina Vitale (kvitale@iucr2026.org) before registering to request a temporary registration code. This code will allow you to complete your registration without payment until bursary decisions have been announced.

Important Accommodation Information

Please note that hotel accommodations are not included in the registration fee. Attendees are responsible for making their own lodging arrangements. A limited number of rooms have been reserved at discounted rates for Congress participants—visit the Accommodations page for details and booking information.

Method of Payment

All registration fees for IUCr2026 must be paid by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or American Express) at the time of registration. This ensures immediate confirmation of your registration.

If paying by credit card presents a challenge, please contact the Congress Secretariat (info@iucr2026.org) to discuss alternative arrangements.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellations received, in writing by May 31, 2026, will be refunded in full, less a USD $100 administrative fee. Between June 1 and July 1, 2026, a 50% refund will be issued. After July 1, 2026, no refunds will be provided.

Exception: If an attendee is officially denied a visa after submitting a complete and timely application, a 100% refund of the registration fee will be issued upon receipt of official documentation confirming the visa denial. The refund request and documentation must be submitted in writing to the Congress Secretariat.

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to the Congress Secretariat (info@iucr2026.org).

International Borders & Visa Requirements

International delegates are responsible for ensuring they have valid travel documents for entry into Canada. Most participants will require a valid passport, and some may need a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) or Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). Processing times vary widely; we strongly encourage participants to apply early. Invitation letters for visa applications are available upon request after registration and payment are confirmed.

Daycare Services

Onsite daycare will be available throughout IUCr2026 to support participants attending the Congress. A flat fee of USD $100 per child applies for the full duration of the event, regardless of the number of days attended. Daycare will operate daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, August 12-18, 2026. This service is designed to provide safe, reliable care for children while parents or guardians participate in the scientific program. Spaces are limited and must be reserved in advance by applying through the registration form. Once the parent is registered and the per-child fee is paid, they will be directed to the daycare provider to arrange specific dates, drop-off times, and complete the child’s registration with the agency.
