Implants and IUDs

The Terrace RCME Committee is excited to bring Dr. Alexa Lindley to Terrace September 28th 1600-2000 for an education session on Implants and IUDs: Comparing and Inserting Long Acting Reversible Contraceptives (LARC).

Dinner will be included. All course costs and catering are paid for by the Terrace Physician RCME Community Funds.

Explore the current contraceptive landscape, the unmet needs in contraception, and gain insights into the benefits and risks of various contraceptive options in Canada.

Learning objectives:

• Describe the contraceptive landscape and unmet needs for contraception in Canada

• Compare the benefits and risks of the etonogestrel subdermal implant and intrauterine contraception

• Describe and demonstrate evidence-based techniques for inserting, localizing, and removing the etonogestrel subdermal implants

• Apply current best practices for inserting IUDs and troubleshooting difficult insertions
