Welcome
REGAL students, welcome to the 23rd edition of REGAL Student Day. JER 2026 will be held at Université Laval, Quebec City, a wonderful time to admire fall leaves!
A scientific poster competition and a prize for the best presentation during the conference are being held. Full details for participating in the poster competition are available on this website.
Poster Contest
Places are limited to 60. Your spot will be reserved upon submission of your abstract. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Eligibility
Master's or PhD students and postdoctoral fellows
Only one poster per participant is allowed in the competition.
You must be registered on the REGAL student community membership list
a) Check your status on the REGAL website
b) Proceed with your REGAL registration (if necessary)
Bachelor and college students
You must have participated in a research project related to aluminum and present the resulting findings. The number of places is limited to 5 in this category. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Participation
Abstracts (in English and French) must be submitted by the deadline of August 20, 2026 at 11:30 pm on the page Abstract submission for poster.
Posters must be submitted by 11:30 p.m. on September 7, 2026. Posters must use the template provided below. Please note that late submissions will not be tolerated.
Evaluation Method
Each poster is evaluated by 3 evaluators, recruited from among REGAL industry partners, REGAL members (professors, or research staff) according to the following criteria:
Aesthetics and appearance (formatting, clarity, balance between text and images, quality of illustrations and graphics), 25 points
Originality of the research topic (scientific relevance), 25 points
Technical content (problem statement objectives, methodology, analysis, discussion, conclusion), 25 points
Quality of making the research accessible to a wider audience (quality of ideas, ability to popularize, respect for the maximum allotted time of 5 minutes)
Presentation of the poster in 5 minutes to the participants on September 28th (11am-12pm for posters with an even number of posters; 3pm-4pm for posters with an odd number of posters), evaluators recruited will give a score to the Pitch Presentations based on the ability to popularize and generate interest from the audience, 25 points.The announcement of scholarship recipients will be made at 11 am on September 29, 2026. Please be there!

Respect for the deadlines is essential to ensure the smooth running of the event. No compromise will be made regarding the dates indicated below.
Your poster must be prepared sufficiently in advance to obtain all necessary approvals on time (supervisor, co-supervisor, co-authors, industrial collaborators, etc.).
Awards Ceremony - September 29th at 11 am
Tuesday September 29th, just before lunch, Awards Ceremony will be held with our partners, professors and students.
