Pre-Conference Travel Award

PRE-CONFERENCE TRAVEL AWARD ABSTRACT SUBMISSION FOR MCI 2027

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: THURSDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2026

All applicants will be notified by November 6, 2026; awardees then must register for the Conference by November 14, 2026 (early bird deadline).

The pre-Conference Travel Award supports graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. Faculty, undergraduate students and staff are not eligible.

Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Belong to an under-represented ethnic or ancestral group (Black or African American, Latino, American Indian or Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islander)

• be disabled

• be from disadvantaged backgrounds

Along with a poster abstract, applicants must submit a CV, a personal statement and EITHER of the following (to document financial need):

• Their PI's NIH "Other Support" document, stating the Pl's current financial support OR

• A letter from their departmental Chair delineating the financial resources available to the PI and trainee

The award stipend covers Conference registration and double occupancy housing (with meals) on-grounds at Asilomar; award funds may not be used to stay off-grounds. Travel costs are not included.
