Guidelines: How to Get from Dubrovnik Airport to the Inter-University Center (IUC) via Shuttle Bus & Walking

The Inter-University Center (IUC) Dubrovnik is located near the Old Town. The most convenient way to get there from Dubrovnik Airport (DBV) is by taking the airport shuttle bus to Ploče Gate, followed by a short walk or a quick taxi ride to Pile Gate, and then a 5-10 minute walk to the IUC.

Step 1: Take the Airport Shuttle to Ploče Gate

After landing at Dubrovnik Airport, look for the airport shuttle bus operated by Platanus d.o.o. or Libertas Dubrovnik (tickets can be purchased at the Platanus counter at the airport or online https://platanus.hr/shuttle-bus/ )

The shuttle departs approximately 30 minutes after each flight arrival and costs around €10.

The ride to Dubrovnik takes about 35 minutes and makes stops at:

Main Bus Station (Gruž)Ploče Gate (your stop)

Exit the shuttle at Ploče Gate, which is on the eastern side of Dubrovnik’s Old Town.

Step 2: Get from Ploče Gate to Pile Gate

Since Pile Gate is on the western side of the Old Town, you need to walk through the Old Town or take a short taxi ride.

Option 1: Walk Through the Old Town (Scenic Route - 5-10 Minutes)

Enter the Old Town through Ploče Gate and walk straight through Stradun, the main street.

Continue all the way to Pile Gate, the main western entrance to the Old Town.

You can use this time for some picture opportunities along the way!

Make sure to take advantage of these photo-worthy moments before arriving at the IUC!

Option 2: Take a Taxi (Fastest Option - 5 Minutes)

If you prefer not to walk, taxis are available at Ploče Gate.

A short taxi ride to Pile Gate takes about 5 minutes and costs around €7-€10.

Step 3: Walk from Pile Gate to the IUC

Once you arrive at Pile Gate, you will see the Old Town walls and main entrance in front of you.

Do not enter the Old Town; instead, turn right and follow the coastal road (Branitelja Dubrovnika Street).

Walk westward, keeping the sea on your left, for about 400 meters (5 minutes).

You will see a crosswalk near a stone wall and a gate with a sign for the Inter-University Center (IUC) at Don Frana Bulića Street 4.

Step 4: Arriving at the IUC

Enter through the gate into the IUC courtyard—you have arrived!

Alternative Transport Options

Taxi/Uber from Airport: If you prefer a direct ride from Dubrovnik Airport to the IUC, a taxi costs €45-€55and takes about 25 minutes.

Taxi from Ploče Gate to the IUC: If you don’t want to walk through the Old Town, a taxi from Ploče Gate directly to the IUC takes about 8 minutes and costs €10-€15.
