Yellowknife is nestled on the northern shore of Great Slave Lake in the Northwest Territories, Canada.

Getting Around Yellowknife
Locals will tell you that nothing in Yellowknife is more than 10 minutes away by car and often on foot. The Chateau Nova and Explorer back onto one another and take about 5 minutes to walk between.
There are no ride share services in Yellowknife, such as Uber or Lyft. Taxis are reasonably priced and readily available through:

Trails
Yellowknife and the surrounding area is abundant with trails perfect for walking, biking, hiking, jogging and birdwatching. Frame Lake Trail (6km) and Niven Trail (2km) are easily accessible by foot from the conference venues. These urban trails are well-maintained and offer a mix of boardwalks, gravel paths, and rocky uneven terrain, with great views of the lakes, surrounding forest, and city skyline.
Prince of Wales Heritage Centre
The Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre is the territory's museum and archives. Just a short walk across the street from the conference venues, the PWHC showcases northern art, cultures and nature to allow visitors and researchers to explore the past, present and future of the NWT.
Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly Building
Also across the street, on the shore of Frame Lake, the Legislative Assembly building is one of the most unique legislatures in Canada, highlighting NWT's consensus style of government and the traditional values of the people of NWT. Daily free tours are offered.
