Welcome!
NOSM U undergraduate medical learners are invited to the Community Connection gathering on Friday, October 23 at the Valhalla Hotel and Conference Centre from 6pm to 9pm in Thunder Bay.
Physician Recruiters from across Northern Ontario will be available to speak with you about communities where you may complete clerkship or elective training, explore residency opportunities, or practise in the future.
Visit community exhibits and meet the people who support learners and physicians in those communities
Ask about clerkship and elective opportunities
Learn about Francophone opportunities, residency pathways, areas of physician need, and future practice options
Ask questions about housing, transportation, recreation, community services, and life outside medicine
Meet residents and other NOSM U undergraduate medical learners from outside your usual academic activities
You do not need to have a particular specialty, community, or career plan in mind. The evening gives you a chance to discover places you may not know, ask questions directly, and understand the range of opportunities available across Northern Ontario.
SRPC Mini Rural and Remote Conference
The Third Annual SRPC Mini Rural and Remote Conference will follow on October 24 and 25 at the same venue.
The conference offers two days of rural and remote medicine education, discussion, and networking. It is a separate event with its own program and registration.
