Northern Lights workshop is relevant to Northern Ontario faculty, preceptors, and administrators. We understand that more practical leadership skill training is beneficial to lead teams of all sizes and disciplines across the healthcare sector in Northern Ontario.

In partnership with the NOSM U CEPD, The Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL), developed content to address healthcare professions’ needs - with both Mainpro+ & Section 1 credits, and Certified Health Executive (CHE) credits available.

Overall Focus:

Understanding change leadership in the context of AI and rapid expansion, prioritization and conflict resolution

Learning Objectives:

  1. Apply change leadership strategies to a current workplace challenge or opportunity. (CanMEDS Roles: Leader, Health Advocate)

  2. Identify strategic prioritization and task delegation techniques to implement with one’s team. (CanMEDS Roles: Leader, Collaborator, Scholar)

  3. Describe conflict resolution strategies to apply at work. (CanMEDS Roles: Leader, Health Advocate)

  • NOSM U Faculty (Medical Sciences, Human Sciences, and Clinical Sciences - Physician Faculty) - $499.00

  • NOSM U Clinical Sciences - Health Sciences Faculty & Preceptors (Rehabilitation Sciences Program, Dietetic Practicum Program, Physician Assistant Consortium) - $399.00

  • NOSM U Staff (including LEG Administrators, S.A.C.s) - $499.00

  • NOSM U Learners - $399.00

  • CCHL members - $399.00

  • Other - $599.00

Accommodations - Delta Toronto Airport Hotel

Deadline: Thursday, April 17, 2025

Hotel accommodations are not covered through registration. NOSM U has received a reduced rate of $194.00/night.

A rooming list will be submitted to the venue on your behalf, and hotel fees (room + incidentals) will be paid by registrants upon check-out for any guest staying on May 8th, 2025. If the rooming request comes after the deadline date, all rooms are then at a first come/first serve basis.


Cancellation Policy

The NOSM U CEPD office reserves the right to cancel courses if required. Registrants will be notified as early as possible if this course is cancelled. Registration fees for courses cancelled by NOSM U CEPD office will be refunded; however NOSM U CEPD will not be liable for any loss, damage or other expenses that such cancellation may cause.

In the event that a participant needs to withdraw from the program after registering, a cancellation administration fee will be applied. Please see below for cancellation deadlines and associated fees:

  • Cancellation by April 19, 2025 will receive a refund less a 25% administration fee.

  • Cancellations received after April 19, 2025 will not receive a refund.

Accreditation & Certification Statement

This activity meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has
been certified by the Continuing Education and Professional Development Office at NOSM
University for up to 6.5 Mainpro+® Certified Activity credits.

This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of
Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved
by the Continuing Education and Professional Development Office at NOSM University. You may
claim a maximum of 6.5 hour(s) (credits are automatically calculated).

CCHL MOC Statement

MAINTENANCE OF CERTIFICATION

Attendance at this program entitles certified Canadian College of Health Leaders members (CHE / Fellow) to 7.5 Category I credits toward their maintenance of certification requirement.
