North of 44: A Primary Care Conference

As Primary Care Providers in the North, we are a distinct group from our Southern Counterparts. The North of 44 Conference was designed to meet the holistic needs of the “generalist” nature of our practices with a respect for the geographic and various service models that make up our region.

We are also hoping to create a “Community of Learning” that includes our NOSM U learners, Academic and Community Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and Multidisciplinary Health Professionals. This provides us with the opportunity to create a strong network for academic growth. It will inevitably create a dynamic and powerful social medical network that is an essential framework for the integrated medical community of the future.

Learning Objectives

The following are the main learning outcomes that we hope will be achieved through this event. Following the conference, participants will be able to:

1. Discuss updates on common guidelines for osteoporosis, PAP testing, and breast cancer (CanMEDS Roles: Medical Expert, Communicator, Scholar)

2. Refine diagnosing skills and optimize treatment plans for Hepatitis C, adult ADHD, pediatrics behaviours, kidney disease, and melanoma in primary care (CanMEDS Roles: Medical Expert, Communicator, Collaborator)

3. Recognize the role of AI and EMR technology in primary care practice towards understanding how to optimize these tools for office efficiency, administrative support and time management (CanMEDS Roles: Leader, Professional)

Cancellation Policy

A 50% administrative fee will be deducted from the purchased ticket price for any refunds issued 7 days prior to the event. There will be no refunds issued 7 or less days from the event date.
