Poster Submissions:

We invite practicing psychologists, graduate and undergraduate students in psychology to submit original, high-quality work for presentation at the 78^th Annual OPA Conference. Poster submissions should be related to research and/or innovative practices in the field of psychology.

Important Dates

Poster Submission Deadline: EXTENDED to September 2nd, 2025
Notification of Acceptance: September 16^th, 2025
Camera-Ready Poster Due: October 14th, 2025
Poster Presentation Session: November 6^th, 2025, 11:20 AM - 12:20 PM
Poster Award Presentation: November 7th, 2025 11:20 AM-12:20 PM.
Conference Dates: November 5^th, 6^th and 7^th, 2025.

Criteria for Selection of Posters:

Does it relate to the practice and/or application of psychology?
Does it have a foundation in theory and scientific research?
Does it add to our knowledge base and inform our clinical practices?
Does it have a clearly outlined research design with data?

Formatting and Length

Format: All submissions must be in PDF format.
Length:
- Brief Description of Poster: No more than 250 words
- Supporting Summary: No more than 250 words
- Poster: No more than one page, landscape format

Originality and Anonymity

Original Work: Submissions must represent original work not previously published or currently under review elsewhere.

Submission Process

All papers must be submitted electronically through the conference’s online submission system HERE.
At least one author of each accepted paper must register for the conference and present the work.
At least one author of each submission must be an active Ontario Psychological Association member.
Only the first 25 poster submissions will be reviewed.

Review and Acceptance
Once your submission is received, it will be considered by a Peer Review Committee. Review criteria will include broad appeal, current and timely topic, originality and innovativeness, interactive/creative format, and scientific basis.

OPA Awards of Honour Submissions:

To nominate a fellow OPA member, complete the submission form HERE, providing a short description of why your nominee is a worthy recipient of the award, as well as at least one letter providing detailed information about the nominee’s accomplishments.

Conference Dates: November 5^th, 6^th and 7^th, 2025.

Award Categories:

• The Ontario Psychological Association’s Award of Merit: This is the highest OPA award to honour an individual, group or organization that has made a significant or sustained contribution to the profession and the OPA.

• Dr. Ruth Berman Award for Leadership as an Early Career Psychologist: This award was established to honour Dr. Berman for her many years of service to the OPA as Executive Director. The Dr. Ruth Berman Award will be granted to an Early Career Psychologist who demonstrates exceptional effort in promoting and enhancing the profession and/or the OPA activities.

• Dr. Harvey Brooker Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching: Named after Dr. Harvey Brooker in recognition of his long-standing contribution to education in clinical psychology. This award is presented to a psychologist or psychological associate who exemplifies the highest standards of excellence in the clinical training of psychology students.

• Sustained Advocacy Award: This award is to honour an individual that has made a significant contribution to the advocacy of psychology and access to psychological services.

• Dr. Ester Cole Leadership Award: This award was established to honour Dr. Cole who has demonstrated outstanding leadership to the membership, Board of Directors, and Executive of the OPA for many years and in various capacities. The Dr. Ester Cole Lifetime Leadership Award will be granted to a Psychologist/Psychological Associate who demonstrates exceptional longtime leadership in the profession of psychology and/or the OPA activities.

- Letter of Nominees Accomplishments: No more than one page

The nominator and nominee must both be active Ontario Psychological Association members.

Review and Acceptance
Once your submission is received, it will be considered by a Peer Review Committee.
