Qualitative Methods for Learning Health Systems Research: Design, Integration, and Application

Course overview:

This half-day seminar introduces principles for the application and practice of qualitative methods in learning health systems research. Participants will gain understanding of methods for qualitative data collection and their use in generating learnings that improve practice and patient experience. The course will also discuss the role of patient partners in designing qualitative research and knowledge translation activities. This course is suitable for clinicians, allied health professionals, researchers, and trainees interested in qualitative health research.

Learning objectives
Participants will gain skills in:

1.     Selecting qualitative research methods suitable to relevant LHS objectives

2.     Leveraging qualitative research to enrich extant quantitative data collection

3.     Applying qualitative findings in LHS practice
