The organizing committee is happy to welcome you to our new event website! Here you will find more information about the conference and eventually the speakers and the schedule. This conference is entirely in-person (no virtual option available).

You must first go to the REGISTRATION tab to pay the registration costs. You may register without submitting an abstract if you wish to attend without presenting. If you wish to present, you must then go to the SUBMISSION tab to submit an abstract.

Abstracts are due by November 24, 2023. This is also the last day for EARLY registration. Starting Nov 25, 2023, LATE registration fees apply. Notification of abstract acceptance will be sent out on December 15, 2023. Registration closes Feb 17, 2024.

To offset costs, we are offering the Clemens-Rigler Travel Award to undergraduates, graduates, and early career professionals. For many years this fund was provided to almost everyone who applied for it. In the past, the value of the award was enough to cover registration or even a plane ticket. However, in recent years, the value of the award has shrunk due to rising costs and more applicants. The time has come to revise the way in which we handle the CRTF and re-focus it to better suit a growing society and a more diverse community. Moving forward, SCAS will budget for at least 25 awards at $500 each. Deadline to apply is November 20. Applications are accepted via this form only.

Your conference registration includes the following:

• morning and afternoon coffee during breaks
• 3 lunches (Feb 22, 23, 24)
• 1 dinner (Feb 22)

Note that registration for members is far cheaper than the membership fee! Join here: https://www.scas-scsa.ca/JOIN to qualify for discounted member registration. We WILL check that you are a member if you choose to register using the member rates!

Hotels

There are two options that are right beside the convention center where the conference will be held. Note that you are responsible for booking your own accommodations.

The Hilton Garden Inn is physically connected to the convention center. Rooms are available Feb 21 - 24. Standard rooms are $169. Premium rooms $189. The "cut-off" date for reserving rooms in the block is end of day on February 7, 2024. Conference attendees call in their reservation directly (506) 999-1551 or book online.
