Sharing Stories, Shaping Solutions: Community Climate Resilience in Sub-Saharan Africa

Canadian Mennonite University
October 22-24, 2026

Building Connections, Sharing Knowledge

Gather with us for three days of learning, dialogue, and connection among a diverse community of researchers, practitioners, learners, and change makers working at the intersection of climate adaptation, community resilience, and Nature-based Solutions (NbS). By creating space for meaningful exchange between local knowledge, lived experience, research, and practice, this conference aims to foster deeper understanding and new connections across regions and communities.

Through panel discussions, interactive workshops, artistic exhibits, a public community dialogue event, and site-based learning activities, participants will explore how communities in sub-Saharan Africa are responding to climate change through locally-led and nature-based approaches. The conference will feature experiences and insights from three projects supported through Global Affairs Canada's Partnering for Climate initiative: LINCZ, Nature+, and GTCA. By bringing together voices and lessons from these projects, the conference creates opportunities to learn from one another and share ideas across diverse disciplines.

Sharing Stories, Shaping Solutions is a space to build relationships, exchange ideas, and learn from the practitioners and communities advancing climate adaptation across sub-Saharan Africa. We look forward to welcoming you to Winnipeg for three days of storytelling, connection, and collaboration.
