Welcome to Somnosciences Québec!
The Quebec Sleep Research Network (Sleep Network) is pleased to announce the first edition of its scientific days, Somnosciences Québec, which will be held on March 26 and 27, 2026, at Laval University.
Somnosciences Québec aims to promote the science of sleep, dreams, and circadian rhythms. This event is intended for researchers, students, care partners, research professionals, and healthcare professionals. The program will include oral presentation sessions, symposiums, networking events, and much more!
Highlights of the event
Keynote lectures by renowned experts
Dr Paul-Antoine Libourel, researcher at the Center for Functional and Evolutionary Ecology in Montpellier;
Dr David Bessey, president of the Société Antilles-Guyane du sommeil;
Dr Évelyne Touchette, professor and researcher at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières.
Half-day focusing on fundamental research
Learn more about fundamental research in the field of sleep, dreams, and circadian rhythms on March 26, 2026! During this knowledge-packed half-day event, you will be invited to discuss and reflect on key issues in fundamental research, as well as the various techniques and animal models used in the field.
"SomnoCabane" dinner
Join us for a presentation by Dr. Alexandro Zarruk ("Sommeil et santé cardiométabolique : le point de vue des cliniciens présenté au Congrès mondial sur le sommeil") and network with your colleagues at a sugar shack-themed dinner. Please note that it is important to register for this activity when you sign up for Somnosciences Québec, as only registered participants will be able to attend and receive a meal. We look forward to seeing you on March 26, 2026 (6:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.) for a sweetly fun dinner!
Coffee, croissants and care partners : The secret ingredients in research
Attend and participate in a roundtable discussion on the role of care partners in research during breakfast on March 27, 2026. This is the perfect opportunity to learn about this new approach to research and recognize the importance of collaboration with care partners. We look forward to chatting with you over coffee and pastries during this innovative event!
Symposiums and student presentations
Discover the latest knowledge in the field of sleep by attending symposiums and oral presentations on March 27, 2026. You will be able to attend two symposiums and six student oral presentations throughout the day. Poster presentations will also take place during the lunch break.
