Welcome

The Association québécoise pour l'innocuité alimentaire (AQIA) [Quebec Association for Food Safety] is pleased to invite its members and colleagues from the bio-food industry to its symposium, to be held on September 19 and 20, 2024 at the Saint-Hyacinthe Research and Development Centre.

This year's event will focus on the theme of food safety in the digital transition. Come and join us!

Thursday September 19, 2024 - AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES

2:00 pm - AQIA Annual General Meeting (hybrid mode)

3:00 PM - Visit of the CRD de Saint-Hyacinthe facilities by its research members

4:30 pm - Networking cocktail with appetizers (non-alcoholic)

Friday September 20, 2024 - SYMPOSIUM DAY

- A program under development that will appeal to our network of industrial, academic, professional and decision-making members.

- Several conferences, student oral (180 seconds) and poster presentation competition, panel discussion and poster networking session with booths from players in the safety field.

Consult this table for rates. Early bird registration and discounts end June 24, 2024.

Join AQIA as a member to take advantage of the special rates and support the association in its ongoing activities.

If required, a block of rooms (single and double) is available until August 20, for the night of the 19th, at the Sheraton Saint-Hyacinthe Hotel, a 6-minute drive away from the event. Simply mention AQIA when booking.

AQIA is keen to showcase student projects in food safety research, and is holding a student presentation competition during the event, with several scholarship prizes for the winners. Two types of presentation will be featured on September 20:

- Orals - 180-second Flash presentations

- Posters presentations

- Communication title

- Research supervisor

- Abstract (300 words maximum)

- Type of presentation (oral and/or poster)

* Oral presentations are now opened to any subject linked to food safety

Thursday, September 19
- The AQIA assembly will be held in French only, without translation.
- An English-speaking tour group of the Saint-Hyacinthe RDC's facilities and labs could be assembled if there is demand.

Friday, September 20
Speakers are free to use either French or English; the language spoken is indicated in the schedule.

Simultaneous translation in both directions will be available for participants who wish to use it.

Terms and conditions

Registration fees are quoted in Canadian dollars and are subject to applicable taxes.

- Payment by credit card is required to complete registration.

- Proof of student status will be required to select the student package.

- A corporate membership allows the registration of only one person at the corporate member discount.

Cancellation policy:

An administrative fee of 15% of the total amount paid at the time of registration will be applied to all refund requests made before on September 1, 2024 (00:00).

No refund requests will be accepted after September 1, 2024.

The AQIA Symposium 2024 complies with the new provisions protecting the privacy of Quebecers as stipulated by Bill 25.

The personal data collected is used to identify participants in the AQIA Symposium 2024 database. Certain information cannot be erased due to tax laws. Only data deemed necessary will be collected, and these will be kept for a reasonable period following the event. At the end of this reasonable period, personal data will be anonymized or destroyed.

You can request the destruction of your personal information now by sending an e-mail to info-aqia@fsaa.ulaval.ca.

By accepting the terms of the personal data management policy, you agree to appear in the Participants section of this event.

Photo and video policy

During the AQIA 2024 Symposium, photos and videos will be taken, notably in conference rooms, in common areas assigned to the event, during social functions and at any other time deemed appropriate by the organization. This graphic material could then be used for:

- Education and knowledge transfer;

- Promotion for upcoming events;

- Meeting archives;

- Post-event communications;

- Publications on social networks;

You may be included in these graphic materials.
