What if every human protein had a high-quality chemical tool to explore its function and therapeutic potential?
This vision is at the heart of Target 2035, a global initiative working to develop pharmacological modulators for every protein in the human proteome by 2035. Achieving this ambitious goal requires a new approach to drug discovery—one that combines advances in protein science, scalable ligand discovery, chemical biology, open data generation, and machine learning.
Join scientists from academia, industry, and the broader drug discovery community for a day of interactive discussions exploring the technologies, datasets, and collaborations that are transforming drug discovery. The program follows the discovery pipeline—from understanding protein function and generating chemical tools, through scalable ligand discovery and chemical probe development, to the open datasets and AI models that are shaping the next generation of therapeutics.
Hosted by the Structural Genomics Consortium (SGC) and the UHN Collaborative Centre for Drug Discovery (C2D2), the symposium will showcase cutting-edge technologies, emerging scientific strategies, and collaborative research efforts that are accelerating the discovery of ligands, chemical probes, and future therapeutic opportunities at an unprecedented scale.
About Target 2035
Target 2035 is a global collaborative effort to create pharmacological tools for every human protein by 2035. By combining open science, large-scale data generation, advanced technologies, and machine learning, the initiative aims to transform our understanding of biology and accelerate the discovery of new medicines.

Head over to our registration page, and complete the online form. Select your ticket type, provide the required information, and submit payment to secure your spot.
Individuals wishing to attend the symposium must register online. Registration will not be processed without full payment, and no onsite registration will take place. All registrations will be confirmed by email immediately. Receipts can also be obtained online.
In-person registration includes admission to all sessions, the networking reception on September 23, 2026, and refreshment breaks and lunch as outlined in the program.
Additional workshops and networking opportunities offered on September 22, 2026, are provided at no extra charge to the registered attendees. However, the attendee should indicate their interest in the registration form as spots are limited.
There will be no online registration for this symposium.
Refund requests may be sent to communications@thesgc.org. There will be a $20 administrative fee for processing cancellations received by Friday, September 11. After this date, no refunds can be given.
