IVADO Thematic Semester - The Governance of AI
Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the most influential technological developments of our time. It is developing at a dizzying pace, bringing about a host of changes in countless areas of human activity. Such upheavals raise fundamental questions about how to govern this technology so as to minimise the risks while maximising the benefits for society.
This thematic semester aims to explore the many facets of AI governance, and the various meanings of this notion, by discussing the issues specific to the various levels and spaces of governance, the challenges specific to certain sectors and the values that should be promoted through governance mechanisms.
Scientific objective :
To identify, analyse, compare and improve the AI governance models that are being developed at different scales and in various sectors, in order to put forward practices that reconcile technological progress with consideration of societal issues while respecting certain fundamental values.
