Welcome

The New Global Order's 2024 Symposium is an international online event that aims at fostering and enriching the discussion on pressing contemporary worldly issues across every continent, focusing on taking stock on the global status of geopolitical affairs in an age of disinformation.

Through the symposium, we aim to create a financially accessible and high-quality space for students, young researchers and young professionals to present their original research (whether published or not) to an international audience.

Thematic Focus

For this year's edition, the organizing committee is encouraging submissions (whether poster or oral presentations; see below) on the following topics:

Event Features

The Symposium aims to be an intellectually enriching space where participants can network, upskill and acquire novel knowledge on the thematic focus. To that purpose, the Symposium will blend an ample array of segment types, including:

Keynote Speeches. Learn from state-of-the-art organizations about disinformation in current geopolitical affairs.
Live Presentations. Hear novel approaches to a variety of prominent thematics in the field of international affairs, presented by fellow students, researchers or professionals.
Interactive Poster Wall. Learn more about research projects by consulting the poster wall and posing questions directly to their authors through an interactive Q&A interface.
Panel sessions. Learn more about the state of Latin America in an inflationary outlook, as discussed by researchers and experts.
Workshops. Build your skills on journalism, decolonization, data ethics or regional governance - all happening within the conference.
Networking Lounge. Connect with fellow students, researchers and professionals in the field of international affairs through our virtual lounge, divided by industry interests.

Pricing & Transparency Statement

As a non-profit organization, we will utilize 100% of any exceeding revenue generated to support our operations in tackling disinformation and empowering young journalists. To take part in the events of the Symposium, participants are invited to give a minimum donation of:

€5.00: general registration to the entire conference and its different events (parallel sessions, networking events, workshops)
€10.00: oral/poster presentation registration + access to the entire conference
Free: TNGO members

In order to encourage participants from diverse backgrounds to join the cohort of presenters, TNGO will waive fully the donation requirements through the following scholarships:

Young Leader Scholarship (YLS): TNGO offers YLS to 2 young changemakers eager to raise their voices on compelling issues regarding international affairs and disinformation and bring forth innovative ideas in related topics.
Community Engagement and Empowerment Scholarship (CEES): TNGO aims to empower leaders from underrepresented countries and communities to speak up and present their research on contemporary matters relating to global politics. To this purpose, TNGO offers a participation waiver for 2 presenters based on the following criteria:
- nationality (Sub-Saharan Africa, MENA, Asia, Central and South America)
- minority groups and indigenous communities.
